While a result can be seen within two weeks after surgery, healing is a gradual process. The skin must be given time to shrink and adjust to its new framework. Even for patients with delicate skin, the tip of the nose will always take longer to settle into its new contour than the upper part. Swelling and bruising around the eyes (black eyes) may be present temporarily, but usually clears within ten days.
