These days the traditional face lift has become passé being replaced by lower third facelift/neck/jowl-lift mini-lifts. The “lower third” minilift provides excellent restoration of one’s youthful appearance with much less downtime and discomfort, plus the added bonus of being less costly.
The “lower third” is carried out by elevating and repositioning the skin from the conrers of the mouth upward, lifting and smoothing the jowl line while lifting and tightening the skin on the neck. Where appropriate, fat is either reshaped, repositioned or removed.
Each patient has unique requirements, so any face-lift surgery should only be carried out by an experienced, qualified plastic surgeon.
The procedure can be performed as day surgery and is often combined with eyelift surgery.
Bruising may last for up to two weeks. The majority of swelling usually subsides within four weeks.
